Welcome to the MudStandards Wiki.

This site is a community effort to provide a central hub to host and improve documentation for existing MUD standards. We are starting with this wiki format, but once we have a solid start we will move the documentation into a more permanent form of documentation.

To begin with we are cleaning up documentation for MXP and MSP.

We are also beginning documentation for MUD Mapping Protocol (MMP). This started as an Iron Realms Entertainment project to provide high quality maps to users. However, it would be much more beneficial to the MUD community as an open source protocol, rather then a proprietary one. We are currently enlisting the aid of client and game producers to create a simple, fast standard that all MUDs can benefit from.

If you would like to contribute to these standards please visit the forums.

We are currently working on:

  • Improving basic layout and documentation.
  • Fleshing out the basics of MMP.
  • Developing a system for maintaining the wiki and editing specs.
